One hospitalized, two suffer minor injuries in two-vehicle crash on Beltline
MADISON, Wis. — One person was hospitalized with serious injuries and two more people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday in a two-vehicle crash on the westbound Beltline near Old Sauk Road.
During the crash, one of the vehicles rolled over, and the single occupant of the vehicle needed to be extricated by Madison firefighters. The occupant was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. One of the occupants of the other vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The crash caused major delays on the highway. All westbound lanes of the Beltline were shutdown, except for the road’s shoulder.
The Madison Fire Department and Madison police responded to the scene.
Wisconsin Department of Transportation officials said the incident occurred at 6:40 a.m. The scene was cleared shortly after 10 a.m.
