Columbia County crash

COLUMBUS, Wis. — A crash on Highway 151 near Columbus has been cleared Thursday afternoon.

An alert from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said the crash happened at 1:19 p.m.  Officials said the right lane was closed as a result.

According to Columbus County Fire Dept. Lt. Jarrod Fox, a lengthy backup was building on the highway near the Dane and Columbia county line.

Columbus Fire said the incident happened roughly a mile away from the exit for County Road V at mile marker 114. Officials asked drivers to get off at County V to avoid being stuck in traffic.

All lanes were cleared at 3:02 p.m.
