Crash involving Chippewa County deputy under investigation, officials say
CHIPPEWA COUNTY, Wis. — Chippewa County deputies responded to a two-vehicle accident on Wisconsin 27 Sunday morning involving one of their own deputies.
A 47-year-old Chippewa County Sheriff’s Deputy driving a squad car and a 24-year-old Chippewa Falls man driving a Mitsubishi Outlander were involved in the accident, according to a Ladysmith News Facebook post.
The caller requested EMS services for both drivers. However, there are no reports of life-threatening injuries, and there were no other passengers in either vehicle, according to the post.
According to officials, the names of the drivers have not been released, and a news release will be issued.
While the road was closed this morning, Wisconsin 27 is now open, according to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.
The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the accident, according to Ladysmith News
