Two people were injured in a crash on Madison’s east side early Sunday morning, police said.

In a news release, Madison police said officers were called to the 3500 block of Anderson Street around 2:14 a.m. for a single-vehicle crash. Officers found a vehicle had hit a tree near the intersection of Anderson and Wright streets, injuring both the driver and a passenger.

Both the driver and the passenger were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Anderson Street was closed while police investigated the crash but has since reopened, the release said.

Police said alcohol may be a factor in the crash.
