Court enters not guilty plea for teen charged with driving stolen car in Beltline crash

MADISON, Wis. — Court officials entered a not guilty plea Wednesday on behalf of a teen accused of crashing a stolen vehicle on the Beltline earlier this spring.

Avion Howard, 18, is charged with driving or operating a vehicle without consent and one misdemeanor count of resisting an officer.

Howard and five other teens were arrested in March after they crashed a stolen vehicle on the Beltline near the Yahara River Bridge during rush hour traffic. Video of the incident shows multiple teens running in front of oncoming traffic, though no one was hit or injured.

Howard did not have another court appearance scheduled as of 4 p.m. Wednesday.
