Cottage Grove enforces water restrictions
Drought, heat factored into decision
COTTAGE GROVE, Wis. — Cottage Grove has implemented mandatory water restrictions to be sure there is sufficient water supply for fire protection and household use, according to the city.
Residents who live on the even side of the street can water their lawns on even-numbered dates. People who live on the odd side of the street can on odd-numbered dates.
The city said watering must be done before 8 a.m. and after 9 p.m.
Officials also advise residents to water newer trees, including street trees between the curb and the sidewalk, and plants susceptible to damage during this dry heat.
The restrictions will be in place until further notice.
