If you think vegetarian food can’t be hearty, then get ready to have your mind blown at DelecTable’s Healthy and Indian Cuisine Cooking Class. You will learn how to combine spices with slow cooking methods to whip up vegetarian twists to five classic Indian dishes, including tofu tikka masala and butternut squash curry. It’s a hands-on cooking class, so come with an empty stomach to enjoy generous tasting portions at DelecTable, which is a new cooking class/event space/bar venture housed inside Vom Fass on University Avenue. $49, 1-3 p.m., eventbrite.com

Wednesday, Oct. 25
Calling all advanced home cooks looking to take their skill to the next level: Madison Club’s executive chef is ready to pass on a recipe from his fall repertoire to attendees of the hands-on Exclusive Cooking Class with Adam Struebing this Wednesday–it’s fine dining made easy. Stick around to mingle and enjoy your cooking creations. $60, 6-8 p.m., eventbrite.com

Yes, you can celebrate Halloween as an adult–just let Wonder Ball at Madison Children’s Museum prove it. The black-tie costume gala will serve up some bloody good bites and devilish beverages prepared by Heritage Catering, The Roman Candle Catering & Bar Service and Yahara Bay Distillery. Go ahead–dress up and let this event resurrect you from the dead after a long work week. $150, 7-11 p.m., madisonchildrensmuseum.org

Sunday. Oct. 29
Caffeine isn’t just for weekdays. Head to Just Coffee Cooperative’s 15 Year Anniversary Party to celebrate the birthday of Madison’s first fully fair-trade coffee roaster. Expect some finger-licking delicacies from bakeries and eateries including Chocolaterian Cafe, Bloom Bake Shop and Monty’s Blue Plate Diner. Don’t worry, you’ll have plenty of coffee to wash down the delicious treats. A lineup of musicians will also perform that day, and if you’re feeling it, step into the spotlight during open mic. 3-7 p.m., facebook.com
