Janesville convict accused of shooting girlfriend 6 to 10 times enters plea
JANESVILLE, Wis. — A Janesville convict accused of shooting his girlfriend six to 10 times, hitting her brother with a gun and hitting her daughter with a candlestick holder has entered a plea.
Dennis McNeal pleaded guilty to first-degree reckless injury and aggravated batter-intended for great bodily harm and not guilty to two other counts Wednesday in Rock County Court.
McNeal told officers he was on crack cocaine at the time of the incident which made him believe that people were trying to kill him when he shot his girlfriend.
He is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
