Construction work will close Milwaukee Street east of interstate
Work on new intersection, underground utilities will close road through October
MADISON, Wis. — Milwaukee Street east of the Interstate 39/90 bridge will be closed starting Tuesday to accommodate construction on underground utilities, according to a release.
Capital Underground will be closing Milwaukee Street approximately 1,000 feet east of the bridge to construct the new Milky Way intersection and install underground utilities as part of the Grandview Commons North Addition Phase 1 project, officials said.
No through-traffic will be allowed during the closure, according to the release.
The signed detour will be Milwaukee Street, left on North Thompson Drive, right on Commercial Avenue, right on Sprecher Road and to Milwaukee Street.
The closure is expected to last through the end of October.
