Two construction projects that will affect traffic in downtown Madison will start Monday, according to a release.

Construction crews will close Langdon Street between North Park and North Lake streets on Monday to complete underground sanitary sewer work, officials said.

The project is expected to last approximately four weeks, according to the release.

Another construction project will start Monday, but that one will last until mid-August, officials said.

Construction crews will close North Lake Street between University Avenue and West Dayton Street, according to the release.

North Lake Street between West Dayton and West Johnson streets will be closed during the entire project, officials said. The block between West Johnson Street and University Avenue will have one northbound traffic lane for the duration of the project.

The contractor will close one lane of traffic on West Johnson Street through the Lake Street intersection during peak hours, and will close two lanes during off-peak hours, according to the release.

Metro Transit bus routes will be detoured during the closures.
