Construction on Highway 14 between Madison and Oregon to resume next week
MADISON, Wis. — Construction will start up again on Highway 14 between Madison and Oregon next week, according to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
Starting Monday, March 22, at least one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction. Drivers will be asked to slow down and pay attention to lane crossovers.
The project will replace the Highway 14 westbound/northbound bridge over Byrne Road and make bridge deck replacements at the McCoy Road bridges. A cable guardrail will also be added along Highway 14 between Netherwood Road and Byrne Road.
As part of the project, Byrne Road will be closed under Highway 14 starting Wednesday, March 17 until sometime mid-June. The County Highway MM ramp to Highway 14 westbound/northbound will also be closed starting Monday, March 22 until mid-June. Drivers will have to find different routes through those areas.
The $6.7 million project should be finished by November. The DOT has more information on the project here.
