Cold weather activities begin during winter storm

Families took sleds to hills around Madison

MADISON, Wis. — With fresh snow on the ground, winter weather activities have begun.

Families were able to pull the tubes and sleds out of the garage for a fun day on hills around Madison.

“It has big bumps,” Oliver, a young snowboarder, said about the challenges of the hill outside of Wingra School.

Amber Otis took her kids tubing this morning.

“The two-year-old and four-year-old both like to go all by themselves, so it’s more chasing them and making sure they don’t hit the fence down there,” Otis said.

After the fun outside is over, Oliver said he will enjoy a cup of hot cocoa and a snack at home.
