Cold forecast prompts weekend Beltline lane closures
Crews race to complete project before cold weather arrives
MADISON, Wis. — Cold temperatures expected next week are prompting a push to complete work on a Beltline road project this weekend.
A representative with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation said if they can finish the work scheduled for this weekend, the project will be nearly complete. The work will be focused on the area between Fish Hatchery Road and Interstate 39/90.
He said cold weather expected next week would force crews to stop stop work.
Two eastbound lanes will be closed between Fish Hatchery Road and Monona Drive from 8 p.m. on Friday until noon on Saturday.
Two westbound lanes will be closed between Monona Drive to Fish Hatchery Road from 7 p.m. Saturday until noon on Sunday.
Delays are expected.
