Cognitively impaired man injured in break-in, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A cognitively impaired man was injured Friday following a break-in at his west side home, police said.
Family members said the burglary happened Friday afternoon at the man’s apartment in the 5800 block of Russett Road, according to a release.
The man had a couple scratches on him following the incident, but it was not clear how those occurred, police said. He had been left alone for a short period of time while other family members went grocery shopping.
When they returned, they said cash had been stolen from the residence and many electronics had been unplugged, but not stolen, according to the release.
