Clifford Wolfram, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, age 66, of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Agrace Hospice in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Eric Sternberg celebrating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, January 24, 2018 at the church from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Cliff was born on October 4, 1951, in Portage, Wisconsin, the son of Harry and Dorothy (Crawford) Wolfram. He married Elizabeth Ann Van Wie at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church on October, 28, 1972. In 1971 Cliff had suffered a severe snowmobile accident. Despite the traumatic brain injury and complications that followed in 1978, Cliff and the family considered themselves blessed as part of overcoming this tragedy. Although Cliff wasn’t an avid sports fan, he would tolerate all the “fanatics” that would gather at his home weekly to cheer on their Packers. He loved going to his grandkids sporting events, the overnights at his son’s home in DePere and the occasional trips to Texas to spend time with his Texas family. He loved to camp and socialize with anyone who had an ear to listen to his jokes and stories. Among his camping group he was considered the “President” and he had chosen as his “Vice President”, Shirley, the mother of fellow campers and very dear friends. During his treatment for cancer these past 2 years, Cliff had wonderful care providers.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Schnee, Dean Clinic Portage, Dr. Uboha and Jenna Wilke from the Carbone Cancer Center and the compassionate caregivers at Agrace Hospice. The family also adds, “Thank you to all family and friends who have been by our side through this journey. We are so grateful and love you all.” Memorial contributions will be donated to St. Cecilia Catholic Church and Agrace Hospice. Cliff is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Van Wie) Wolfram; son, Christopher (Lynn) of DePere, WI and their children, Andrew, Aiden and Madelyn Wolfram; daughter, Brenda Myers of Frisco, TX and her children, Alexis and Jacob Myers; loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Also adopted family, Mike, Marshia, and Peter Horkan and Kelli, Jeremy, Emma and Thomas Clussman. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Wolfram; mother and father-in-law, Jack and Dorothy Van Wie; brothers in law, David and Bill Van Wie and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
