Cleanup starts after house explosion, suspected homicide in west side home
MADISON, Wis. — Crews cleaned up the site of the Madison explosion Wednesday.
The explosion happened last month on Madison’s west side. Dane County prosecutors say Steve Pirus had shot and killed his wife Lee Ann before blowing up the house in September to cover up the crime. They also believe he planned to marry a Russian woman.
Cleanup is expected to take up to two days. The fencing around the home near High Point Road is expected to be removed next week.
