Clayton Thompson, 94, of LaFarge WI passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at the Bethel Home in Viroqua. He was born September 28, 1917 in Soldiers Grove the son of Selmer and Emma Thompson. On October 31, 1938 he married Mae Hisel in Iowa. Clayton was a lifelong farmer and carpenter. He enjoyed playing cards, hunting, camping, making crafts, snowmobiling, and spending winters in Arizona.
Clayton is survived by daughter Coann (Paul) Haus; daughter-in-law, Linda (Robert) Mylin; grandsons Steve Sandmire, Andrew (Yi-Chen) Haus, Jonathan (Lisa) Haus; granddaughters, Kim (Dave) Howes, and Tera Thompson; great-grandchildren, Chad, Chris, Nicole Sandmire, and Valerie Haus; great-great-granddaughter, Rylee Sandmire; and Sister Anna Mae Leatherberry.
Clayton was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mae, daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Marvin Sandmire; son Jerry W. Thompson: (Jerry’s twin brother) Danald in infancy; granddaughter Peggy Sandmire; brothers, Merlin (Lucille); Everett (Berdyne); sister, Ruth (Leland) Dempsey.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 17, 2012 at the Seland Huston Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bear Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the Seland Huston Funeral Home on Friday, August 17, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at 2:00 PM.
