Claws Up! Brewers, City of Milwaukee get set for postseason
City landmarks will be lit up throughout the postseason
MILWAUKEE, Wis. — It was a day of celebration in Milwaukee on Wednesday, as the Brewers get set for the postseason.
At a press conference, city officials announced that several buildings and landmarks will be lit blue and yellow throughout the team’s postseason run.
“We are showing our colors, literally, in support of the Brewers,” Mayor Tom Barrett said. “We are cheering, decking out the city, and declaring Milwaukee is enthusiastically behind our Brewers.”
Officials also announced that the Department of Public Transportation, Fire Department, and County Transit will all display Brewers flags and messaging.
“It’s exciting to see the city rally around this special team and the fan support is unparalleled.” Brewers President of Baseball Operations David Stearns said. “The enthusiasm continues to build, and we look forward to a memorable postseason.
Officials also urged fans to wear their favorite Brewers gear on Friday and post #ClawsUpMKE on social media, as the team squares off against the Atlanta Braves in the National League Division Series.
First pitch for Game 1 is scheduled for 3:37 p.m. and Corbin Burnes is scheduled to start for the Crew.
