Clarion A. Severson
JANESVILLE—-Clarion “Clair” A. Severson, age 88, of Janesville, died on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at the Edgerton Care Center. He was born in Black River Falls on Feb. 29, 1924, the son of Peter and Lena (Larson) Severson. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII, during the European Theatre of Operations and staying in the Philippines for the invasion of Japan. Clair married Betty J. Waller in Pigeon Falls on June 10, 1947, and had been Janesville residents since 1949. He had been employed by Ryan Inc. for over 40 years. He had been a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, life member of the VFW Post 1621, charter member of the American Legion, Northfield, WI, and the Operating Engineers Local 139.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; 2 children, Dennis (Marie) Severson of Janesville and Renae (Bruce) Rockenfield of Charlotte, NC; 5 grandsons: Todd (Darcy) Severson, Jason Rockenfield, Peter Severson, Brad Rockenfield and Aaron Severson; 3 great grandchildren: Jesse, Leena and Owen; 4 siblings: Raymond Severson of Slinger, Verna Kobischka of Rockford, Joan Haven of Rockford and Kenny (Maxine) Severson of Janesville; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and 3 brothers: LaVern, Lloyd and Perry Severson.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at ST. PETER’S LUTHERAN CHURCH with Rev. Bruce Gray officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 10:00 to 12:00 noon at the church. Entombment will be in Milton Lawns Mausoleum.
