Clarence Kelbel, 85, of Richland Center died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Pine Valley Healthcare in Richland Center. He was born March 4, 1927 near West Lima the son of Fred and Lois (Hunter) Kelbel. On March 25, 1953 Clarence married Phyllis Hatfield in Hillsboro. The couple farmed in the Yuba area for 40 years. Clarence enjoyed his mules, jersey cows, farming and raising his many flowers. Clarence and Phyllis enjoyed their travels out west. He loved to be able to spend time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Clarence is survived by his wife Phyllis of 59 years, five children, Bonnie (Keith) Wilson of Reedsburg, Randy (Darla) Kelbel of Viroqua, Alice (Mark) Roehl of Reedsburg, Roger (Carla) Kelbel of LaValle, Irene (James) Hiner of Kendall, 12 grandchildren, Beth, Sherman, Eugene, Stacy, Bruce, Marie, Christine, Ashley, Barry, Jessica, Laura, James Jr., 14 great-grandchildren, brother, Kenneth (Leona) Kelbel of Bloom City, sister, Dorothy Rybski of Owen, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Freda Giese and Marian Sayles, and brother-in-laws Chester Rybski, Walter Giese, and Hubert Sayles.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 at 11:00 at the Pratt Memorial Chapel with Pastor Barbara S. Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Richland Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM.
