City of Madison declares snow emergency
MADISON, Wis. — The city of Madison has declared a snow emergency, which means alternate side parking rules will be in effect Tuesday night.
According to a news release, the snow emergency will last until 7 a.m. Thursday.
City officials ask that residents choose off-street parking Tuesday night. Anyone who parks on the street must follow alternate side parking rules or risk their cars being ticketed and towed.
Plowing efforts throughout Madison began late Monday night. Streets Division crews said the wet, dense snow has made for slower plowing than previous storms this winter. Citywide plowing is expected to come to a close Tuesday afternoon.
Snow plows will be out again Tuesday night to clear areas in the Snow Emergency Zone that are not blocked by parked cars.
