Two people were arrested in a drug bust in Platteville Friday morning, according to a news release.

The Richland-Iowa-Grant County drug task force Supervisor and Chief Deputy Jack Johnson said the team executed a search warrant with the Department of Criminal Investigation’s clandestine lab team at a home on the 300 block of North Water Street at 11:30 a.m.

Johnson said 38-year-old William R. Nida and 52-year-old Donna M. Lowther were arrested on suspicion of manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of meth precursors, possession of meth and child endangerment.

A 4-year-old child in the home was turned over to Grant County Social Services, according to a news release.

Johnson said the charges are pending. Nida and Lowther were taken to the Grant County Jail.

Platteville police and fire departments assisted in the operation, police said.
