Child, driver hospitalized in combine crash
Both were airlifted to UW Hospital
WILLOW SPRINGS, Wis. — A driver and a two-year-old child are in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a crash with a combine Saturday.
Crews responded to reports of a crash on State Highway 23 near County Highway G just before 11:30 a.m.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office says Manuel DeJesus Reyes-Avilla, 24, of Darlington struck a John Deer Combine being driven by Thomas Pratt, 63, of Dodgeville.
Avilla was attempting to pass other cars in a no-pass zone when he hit Pratt’s combine while Pratt was turning.
A two-year-old boy was ejected from Avilla’s car during the crash.
Both Avilla and the boy were transported to Upland Hills Medical Center before being airlifted to UW Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
