Child approached by stranger while waiting for bus, Madison police say

MADISON, Wis. — A 10-year-old boy told police a stranger approached him Friday before school.

The boy said he was waiting for the bus along the 1700 block of Northport Drive when he was approached. This is on Madison’s north side near Warner Park.

According to a release by the Madison Police Department, a man driving a van asked the boy if he wanted a ride.

The boy declined, the release said.

Police describe the driver of the van as being white, bald and having a short-length red beard. The van is described as light blue in color.
