Charles (Chuck) Melvin Blair went home to be with the Lord after a battle with esophageal cancer while living in Racine, Wisconsin on July 1, 2014 at the age of 59.

Chuck is predeceased by his mother, Maxine (Blair) Rudolph and his father, Melvin Blair. He is survived by his loving wife Karen of 37 years. They were married in Racine, Wisconsin on October 9, 1976.

Chuck was born in Mauston, Wisconsin on March 29, 1955. He graduated from Mauston High School in 1973. Chuck moved to Racine where he met his wife Karen and took a position with JI Case. Chuck and his family later moved back to Mauston where he worked for the Community Action Council, the Mauston School District and started a business, Finishing Touch Cleaning Services. Chuck moved back to Racine in 2010 where he began a new career as a Teacher of Custodial Services, Racine Correctional Institution.

Chuck had three children and seven grandchildren whom he loved greatly. He is survived by his wife Karen Blair (Olson); his children, Donavon (Lori) Blair, Angela Blair and Katherine Blair; grandchildren Andraliese Miller, Alexis Miller, Lyana Blair, Isaiah Blair, Addison Jacobson, Charli Blair and Karis Blair. He is also survived by his sister Sharon Pelton (Blair) and his niece Jennifer (Mike) Theim and great nephew Tyler Pelton.

He enjoyed playing football, watching football and reading about football. Chuck was an avid Packer fan. He was celebrated in Mauston as a fullback for the Golden Eagles winning awards and public recognition. It is important to note his faith and love for God. He attended Faith Christian Church for many years and while in Racine, True Life Ministries. The most memorable quality about him is his infectious laugh and timely sense of humor. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family.

Pallbearers are Mark Olson, Tyler Pelton, Neil Davey, Dennis Pelton, Kristofor Lenorud, and John Buscemi.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2014 at Faith Christian Church, N4691 Hwy 12&16, Mauston, where friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until time of services, with Pastor Paul Shirek officiating.
