Charles Jerome Parks, Jr.
Madison – Charles J. “Charlie” Parks, Jr., age 80, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Waunakee Manor Nursing Home.
He was born August 13, 1933 in Madison the oldest child of Charles and Martha (Anderson) Parks, Sr. Charles married the love of his life, Maxine, on February 20, 1960 and she preceded him in death on August 13, 1997. They lived in Madison and had one daughter. Charles enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a Forester for the City of Madison until his retirement.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Theresa (Pat) Crary of Pardeeville; a sister, Betty Martin of Wansburo, Virginia; two grandchildren, Chad (Angie) Crary, Jodi (Jason) Cerkoney; nine great-grandchildren, Riley, Rhandyn, Rance, Regan, Ella, Chase, Brock, Mason, Megan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine, his parents; and two sisters, Dorothy Prieve and Delores Squires.
He will be missed by all of his family and friends, especially his friends at Wilson’s Bar and the Cottage Café and special neighbors and friends Melanie, Greg, Tom, Randy, Sandy and Julie. We extend a special thank you to the staff of Waunakee Manor for taking such good care of Dad.
A funeral service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Avenue, with Rev. Antonio Cabello officiating.
Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27 at Ryan Funeral Home and again on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the Ryan Funeral Home.
