Charles E. “Chuck” Hall
Charles E. “Chuck” Hall, age 69, passed away at his home on Saturday, February 15, 2014.
He was born in Madison on November 23, 1944, the son of the late Earl C. and Helen (Steidtmann) Hall. Chuck graduated from Sauk City High School in 1962 and from University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in 1969. He was united in marriage to Penny J. Lester in 1969.
Chuck served in the National Guard Reserves in the 1960’s. He was a lifelong resident of Sauk City, where he worked as a pharmacist for 45 years, being in business with his Dad in Hall Pharmacy in Sauk City and Plain. Chuck was always willing to go the extra step for his customers. He was a member of the Sauk City Library Board, Reinactment of the Civil War, Sauk Prairie Masonic Lodge, Sauk City Historical Committee, Bald Headed Men’s Club, and Birthday Friends Luncheon.
He is survived by his wife, Penny; son, Charlie (Julie) of Merrimac; daughter, Susie (Will) Frey of Edgewater, CO; two granddaughters, Clara and Sylvie Frey; sister, Mary (Bob) Tallitsch; nephew, Steven Tallitsch; niece, Molly (Stephen) Young; mother-in-law, Inice Heintz; brother-in-law, Nick (Kathy) Lester; nephew, Craig Lester; niece, Karen (Brian) Moser; including first cousins, especially his lifelong best friend, Harlan “Skip” Hall and his wife Gerri.
A Celebration of Life will be held in June 2014. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sauk City Library or cancer research.
Chuck’s family would like to extend a thank you to the oncology team of Dr. Liu at UW Hospital, the Sauk Prairie Ambulance Crew, and the many friends who gave Chuck support during his 3 year fight with kidney cancer.
