Charles C. “Pete” Larson
Charles C. “Pete” Larson, age 65, of Platteville, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Southwest Health Center Nursing Home in Cuba City with his beloved family by his side.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 30, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Platteville. Rev. Faustino Ruiz will officiate. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, or from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the church. Charles was born on August 24, 1946 in Platteville, the son of Charles E. and Ruth (Boll) Larson. He was united in marriage to Suzanne Hying on January 2, 1965 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Platteville. Charles served in the US Navy from June, 1964 until August, 1967. He served on the USS WASP during pick up of two of the Gemini capsules. The past twenty-two years he was employed by HOMZ Management as maintenance specialist at Jenor Tower until retirement in April of 2011. He greatly enjoyed his grandchildren, was a loyal fan of the Green Bay Packers, and an avid deer hunter.
He is survived by his wife Suzanne, three children, Craig (Angel) Larson of Platteville; Wendy (Kelly) Hoffman of Platteville; Laurie (Ryan) Graney of Dubuque; seven grandchildren, Dallas and Faith Hoffman of Belmont; Tyler and Kendra Larson and Dakota Hoffman of Platteville; and Brett and Emily Graney of Dubuque; two sisters, Cheryl Edge and Chris (LaVern) Wilder of Zephyrhills, FL; mother-in-law, Charlotte Hying of Platteville; four sisters-in-law; six brothers-in-law; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Fitzgerald; his father-in-law; and infant son, Chad Alan.
