Charles A Schreck, 84, of Gays Mills died on Friday June 27, 2014 at the Bland Bekkedal Hospice Center.
Charles “Pat” Schreck, 84, of Gays Mills and formerly of Prairie du Chien, passed away on June 27, 2014 at the Bland Bekkedal Hospice House in Viroqua.
Charles was born to Charles and Katherine (Williams) in Steuben on Sept 7, 1929. He married Jeannine (Larmore) on June 30, 1952. They farmed for 30 years in the Seneca area and later moved to Prairie du Chien where he was employed as the maintenance supervisor at Martin Luther Preparatory School for 25 years before retiring. Charles enjoyed playing Euchre, watching the Cubs and Badgers, reading, and doing jigsaw puzzles. He disliked talking on the telephone.
He is survived by his wife and five daughters: Renee (Kent) Salmon of Ferryville, Rbin (Dennis) Boland of Reedsburg, Susan (Dick) Boland of Gays Mills, Lill Schreck of Gays Mills, and Ellie (Tom) Ray of Steuben; 14 grandchildren: Bob (Bridget) and Russel (Miranda) Wright, Chuck (Agnès Vetinde), Ben (Amy), Peter (Angela), Colleen (Jacob Kolb), Erin, and Megan Boland, Sonya (Shawn) Lenzendorf, Shannon Boland (Jason Kriel), Ryan (Traci) Schneider, Andrea (Josh) Dunbar, Jessica (Wayne) Zelhofer, and Charlie Ray (Christine Connely); 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother Del (Wilma) Schreck of Mt. Sterling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
In lieu of flowers or plants, memorials may be made to the Bland Bekkedal Center for Hospice Care in Viroqua.

A Memorial service will be held at the Vosseteig Funeral Home in Gays Mills on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 12 pm. Pastor Nile Sandeen will officiate with burial to follow at a later date. Friends may call at the Funeral Home from 10 am till the time of service at 12.
The Vosseteig Funeral Home of Gays Mills is serving the family.
