Celebrate National Taco Day with taco and tequila specials this week
11 events, deals and spots for tasty tacos
Oct. 4 marks National Taco Day, but why wait until then to celebrate? Hit up these local joints to get in the spirit this week!
Tuesday, Oct. 1
Dive right in and let the taco tour begin with Bel Air Cantina’s $2 Tuesday special. For $2 each, mix and match select tacos from the menu to create a trio, served with a side of rice and beans. Pair that with Mexican tap beer or, if you’re feeling gutsy, a $2 mystery shot of tequila or mezcal. The special only applies to meals in-house, so beat the rush and snag a table for the occasion. 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Click here for more information
Robin Room also offers a Tuesday special. Drink a mezcal paloma along with cuisine from Francisco’s Catering at Taco Tuesday with Francisco’s. Grab some tacos for $2.50, or save your taco appetite for National Taco Day later in the week and instead order “super” nachos, enchiladas verdes or a burrito. 6-9 p.m. Click here for more information
Wednesday, Oct. 2
vomFass regularly holds cooking classes which pair wine and spirits with meals made from scratch. True to the theme of the week, taco enthusiasts can prepare a fall-inspired menu at Tacos and Tequila | Cooking Class with Chef Joel Olson on Wednesday. But get ready for some pinky-up tacos — participants will make apple pie tacos with cinnamon crème chantilly and maple-glazed butternut squash tacos with bacon and brie. Sip on a paloma cocktail and enjoy your unique taco creations. $69. 5:30-8:30 p.m. Click here for more information
Head to the Wise at HotelRED for its weekly Tunes, Taps and Tacos, featuring musician Pat Ferguson. Take your pick of five specialty tacos offered, combine it with a tap beer from Wisconsin Brewing Co. and take in Ferguson’s blend of American, bluegrass and folk music. 6-8 p.m. Click here for more information
Thursday, Oct. 3
On National Taco Day Eve, count the minutes to midnight at Blue Velvet’s Badger Latin Night. Every Thursday, this cocktail lounge transforms into a full-blown dance party as DJs provide all strains of Latin music. From salsa to bachata to Reggaeton and more, dance the night away and enjoy tequila, Dos Equis and mixed drink deals. 10 p.m.-1:45 a.m. Click here for more information
