Cattle drive in town of Lebanon canceled

A cattle drive that was going to take place Sunday has been canceled.

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputies were at the scene at the beginning of the drive. The cattle wandered into a soybean field and damaged it, police said.

The cattle have been corralled and deputies are working with the landowner to resolve the situation, police said.

The office said the cattle drive would have lasted four to five hours.

The office had warned the owner about potential damage and traffic issues surrounding the drive.

The office reminds the public that there is a responsibility to yield right of way to livestock being driven on or over a highway.
