My Celebrity Outfit Inspiration

Those who know me know that I always have to be dressed up—well, most of the time (Brewer games don't count). I love clothing because it's more than a shallow interpretation of how someone looks, it's how they express themselves. And there is room for most any kind of style in this world, whether you're a Madison hippie or, um, Lady Gaga (did you SEE this look she sported recently?? Ummm, yeah).

In Full Bloom

Jane Kinney's easy, breezy cottage style comes out in full bloom in her Monroe Street shop.

Fashionable Find

J. Kinney always puts a smile on my face when I walk in. Maybe it's because of the cheerful green walls or the smell of fresh flowers.

Luxe for Less

Tough Times Call for Drastic Measures: Dress to the Nines, Indulge Your Inner Foodie, Get Cultured, Spoil the Kids, Break a Sweat. It's All About Living Big on Little! The Look for Less Anyone who says you have to spend a lot to look good doesn't know where to go. Our hunt for a chic summer look took us to the style havens of The Purple Goose, Dazzle, Patricia Shoppe, Little Luxuries and shoe mecca DSW. Every item on this page is $60 or less—and believe it or not, you can wear this entire look (dress, shoes and handbag) for about $150. Pick out a few of your favorite accessories and you can still look and feel luxe for less—for $200 or less. What to wear to that special event this summer? A stylish dress, clutch and heels, plus a few accessories from this page. Style dilemma solved! Clockwise from left: Hoop earrings, $12, Dazzle; renne c cotton halter dress, $60, The Purple Goose; multistrand necklace, $36, Patricia Shoppe; silk flower headband, $24, Little Luxuries; Urban Expressions crocodile-print clutch, $36, Patricia Shoppe; cocktail rings, $18, Dazzle; Nina red satin "Electra" heels, $60, DSW; flower cuff, $12, Dazzle. Guy Style Decoded Most men like their closet standbys—pieces they reach for that make them look (and feel) good. Maybe it's a crisp polo shirt, denim that works 24/7 or a tailored blazer. Allow us to introduce you to your new summer standbys, all priced at $200 or less. Pick up these pieces and with a few tweaks here and there they work from day to night. A lightweight blazer and button-up are cool for summer. Add some edge with stylish aviators, Ray-Ban lookalikes or classic Chucks.

Green Scene

hopping local is one way to be green—supporting small businesses means you're participating in the local economy, oftentimes buying locally made products and driving less to get them. Store owner Heather Higgins takes her customers' buy-local experience a few steps further.
