Those who know me know that I always have to be dressed up—well, most of the time (Brewer games don't count). I love clothing because it's more than a shallow interpretation of how someone looks, it's how they express themselves. And there is room for most any kind of style in this world, whether you're a Madison hippie or, um, Lady Gaga (did you SEE this look she sported recently?? Ummm, yeah).
Jane Kinney's easy, breezy cottage style comes out in full bloom in her Monroe Street shop.
As your intrepid shopping reporter I'm always on the lookout for newer stores and I have two to tell you about: The Velvet Umbrella and Lu Anders.
J. Kinney always puts a smile on my face when I walk in. Maybe it's because of the cheerful green walls or the smell of fresh flowers.
