Cat Cafe Mad set to close in July
Spot will switch to self-serve June 30
MADISON, Wis. — The Cat Cafe Mad, Madison’s only cat cafe, announced Tuesday on Facebook that it will be closing in mid-July.
According to the post, the cafe will be switching to self-serve coffee and tea June 30.
“We would like to thank you all for your support and donations through this hard Monroe Street Construction time,” the post said.
Previous posts on the Facebook page asked individuals to donate to a GoFundMe page asking to “Save Cat Cafe Mad.”
According to the GoFundMe page, the cafe was in jeopardy of closing because of the Monroe Street construction that started in mid-March. Before the construction had even started, the page said the cafe’s revenue had dropped to less than 50 percent.
All merchandise at Cat Cafe Mad will be 20 percent off.
