Carwin F. Schwanz

Carwin F. Schwanz, age 72 of rural Richland Center, died on Sunday, October 26, 2014.

He was born in Richland County on August 20, 1942, the son of Louie and Odessa Schwanz. Carwin graduated from teacher’s college, and went on to earn a variety of additional education. He proudly served with the Richland Center Police Department. He was hired as a patrolman in July of 1967, and retired from there in February of 1997. He was married to Lorna Goebel on June 6, 1964, and cared for her through her cancer struggles until her death March 31, 2005. They enjoyed raising their family together in the countryside, and shared many good times together. Following his retirement, Carwin remained active with gardening and maintaining his yard, and enjoyed photography.

Survivors include their children Tracy (Mike) Guinther of Richland Center, Dale Schwanz of Reedsburg, Aaron Schwanz of Sextonville, Jason Schwanz of Madison, seven grandchildren:
Keith Brown (Alyssa Munson) of Reedsburg, Brandon Guinther (Talisa Willis) of Richland Center, Connor Guinther of Richland Center, Patrick Schwanz of Gays Mills, Bridgette of Missouri, Aaron Roe of Cassville, Andy Schwanz of Cassville, his mother and father in law: Ernest and Lillie Goebel of Lone Rock, his siblings: Carol Schwanz of Milwaukee, Jeff Schwanz of Sextonville, Linda Schwanz of Boaz, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Carwin was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Roger Schwanz.

Visitation for Carwin Schwanz will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Friends may call from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM.
