Carrie A. Swinehart, age 86, of Lake Mills, died on Friday, September 14, 2012 at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek. She was born in Richland County on October 18, 1925, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel (Ray) Faulkner. Carrie was happiest when surrounded by and spending time with her family. She worked as a central supply technician at Beloit Memorial Hospital and continued service to her community by volunteering at the Veteran’s Hospital in Madison, at Beloit Memorial Hospital and for meals on wheels. She also volunteered for many years for the Disabled American Veterans. She felt closest to God in her garden and spent many happy moments there. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.
Survivors include her children Barbara Jordan (David) of San Jose, CA, Lee Swinehart (Cindi) of Tunnel Hill, IL, Charles Swinehart (Christine Eichen) of San Jose, CA, Janice Carter of Tunnel Hill, IL, Sheila Dunbar (Scott) of Roscoe, IL, eight grandchildren: Matthew Jordan (Sarah), Lindsay Morris (James), Anthony Swinehart, Xavier Eichen, Casper Eichen, Terry Carter, Traci Carter, Travis Carter, one great grandchild Curran Jordan, one sister: Mary Simonson, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
Carrie was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters: Freda Roh, Pauline Faulkner, Mildred Tetzlaff, and Hazel Faulkner; and her brother George Faulkner.
Inurnment will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 1:30 pm at Richland Center Cemetery. A memorial services are being planned at Trinity Lutheran Church, 346 W. Pine St, Lake Mills, WI 53551.
