MADISON/WAUNAKEE – Carole “Pink” Pfeiffer Parish, age 91, died peacefully at Meriter Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, with her family by her side, after a brief illness.
Born on Sept. 3, 1922, to Andrew and Anna Thompson, Carole was raised in Lodi. She married Carl Pfeiffer in 1943 and he predeceased her in 1976. She married Frank Parish on Nov. 15, 1980. Carole’s family was her priority and she loved spending time through the years with them all. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carole was a wonderful cook and added butter to everything she made!
She was a loving wife to Frank; a caring mother to Nancy (Terry) Bontly, Cathy (Ken) Knudson and Mary (Norb Lawinger) Alt; a special grandmother to Amy (Doug) Wulz, Scott (Stacy) Knudson, Jeff (Jessica) Knudson, Aaron Alt and Tony (Lindsay) Alt; and a proud great-grandmother to eight. Carole is further survived by three step-grandchildren, Beth (Jeff) Marshall, Lisa (Dave) Duecker, Laura (Brian) Woodland; seven step-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Frances Thompson; many nieces and nephews; and best friend for 85 years, Betty Barbian. Besides Carl, she was predeceased by her mother; dad; and two brothers, Vick and Jim.
At mom’s request, a private family service will be held.
Special thanks to mom’s favorite granddaughter, Amy, for her loving care and also the staff at Meriter ICU and the staff at Sylvan Crossing though the last few years.
If you’d like to remember our mom in some way, please do something nice for someone in need today. “We’ll miss you mom.”
