Carole A. Schirmacher
FALL RIVER—Carole A. Schirmacher age 77, died on Monday, August 20, 2012 at her home surrounded by her family and devoted husband, Robert.
She was born on December 25, 1934 at home in West Keansburg, NJ to Leroy and Anna (Reinhart) Vorhies. Carole was married to Robert Schirmacher on March 12, 1960 in Keansburg, NJ. She was formerly employed at both Bell Telephone and Bendix companies in New Jersey. She later worked for Treasure Island in Appleton and lastly for JC Penney and Deon’s, both in Madison.
Carole was a feisty little lady. She was known for her witticism and one-liners, often directed toward her husband, and usually ending with a favorite expression “same difference” as her last word. Carole was a die-hard Packer fan and avid reader. She enjoyed garage sales and dining out.
Survivors include her husband, Robert “Bob” of Fall River; a daughter, Susan Buningh of Columbia, MD; two sons, Al (Deb) of Princeton, MN and Dale (Kris) of Columbus; nine grandchildren, Daniel Reno, Josiah Schirmacher, Christine Reno, Matthew Schirmacher, Rebekah (Timothy) Beaudry, Brandon Schirmacher, Nathan Schirmacher, Emily Schirmacher, Irie Schirmacher; one great-granddaughter, Lillian; three sisters, Bobbie (Art), Arlene and Bea; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary, Mildred, Gladys; one brother, Roy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fountain Prairie Cemetery, Town of Fountain Prairie, WI. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 24, at the funeral home, and from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to St. Vincent De Paul of Columbus.
