Carol M. Hathaway
Carol M. Hathaway (Van Roy), age 79, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Agrace Hospice Care. She was born on May 1, 1935 in Green Bay, WI, the daughter of William and Gladys Van Boxel.
Carol worked for many years as a dane county social service aide and also at Central Colony. Carol’s biggest passion in life was her children. She was selfless and would do anything for her family. She was as protective of them as a mother lion. She also enjoyed spending time with Ryan, reading, gardening, shopping and going on casino trips. Carol especially enjoyed traveling and going to her cabin and travel trailer.
Carol is survived by her children, Roxanne, Julie (Lou Oleson), Steve and John (Debra); siblings, Mickey (Don) Lafortune, Jean (Dave) Porkorny, and twins Dave (Sandy) and Dan (Joan); and grandchildren, Shaun and Sarah Barr. She is also survived by her long time special friend Ryan Keely.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Lori (Steve) Barr; siblings, Ronnie (Ginger), Bernie (Karen), Billy and Joan (Bob) Orde.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N Sherman Ave, Madison, with Msgr. Charles Schluter officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of service. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park will take place at a later date.
The family would like to thank the staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital and Agrace Hospice Care for the care and support they provided to Carol and family.
