Carol L. Genin, age 92, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on September 23, 1922 in Paoli, WI, the daughter of Charles and Loretta (Sarbacker) Genin. Carol enjoyed an illustrious 41 year career in banking, retiring in 1984. She was particularly proud to be one of the first women to be promoted to Assistant Vice President in the Trust Department of First Wisconsin National Bank. Retirement was only the beginning of her dedicated service to the community as a volunteer. She loved working with the Catholic Women’s Club, Attic Angels and Meriter Volunteer Services. She also served on several boards including, Madison Community Foundation, Methodist Hospital and Meriter Foundation. In her spare time, she enjoyed golf, bowling, lunches with her friends and playing the piano.
She is survived by her cherished family which includes: sister-in-law, Madelon Genin; nieces and nephews, Laurie (Mike) Baltz, Terri, Ken (Susan), Mike (Tami), Dave (Christy), Karen (fiancé, Mark Mueller) and Kathi Genin; her 14 beloved great-nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, January 2, 2015 at ST. PETER CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5001 N. Sherman Ave. A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 1, 2015 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 N. Sherman Ave., from 5:00PM until 7:00PM and also from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Agrace HospiceCare for their dedicated care, particularly, Calli and Tamika, as well as Sydney from Advocare.
