Cardinal Bar to reopen Tuesday as Nomad World Pub
Grand opening celebration set March 16
MADISON, Wis. — The former Cardinal Bar will reopen Tuesday as a new location of Nomad World Pub.
The bar at 418 E. Wilson St. has been closed for several weeks as it was converted.
Nomad World Pub Madison will host events all week to celebrate, including a grand opening celebration on March 16 featuring Mama Digdown’s Brass Band.
“We embrace the Cardinal’s history and as promised, have kept the parts that everyone loves, while providing our own unique twist,” said Nomad owner Mike Eitel, a restaurant veteran and UW-Madison graduate.
Other than some cleanup and slight changes to the decor, Eitel kept the interior of the bar the same. Nomad World Pub pays homage to the Cardinal Bar with a “Cardinal Ballroom,” featuring the well-known high-tech sound system and the installation of the original Cardinal sign.
The original Nomad World Pub is in the Brady Street neighborhood of Milwaukee.
