Car crashes into tree; Man flown to UW
Speed factor in crash, deputies say
MADISON, Wis. — A Merrimac man who crashed his car into a tree was flown to UW Hospital early Monday morning, according to a release from the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a car driven by Bryce McClung, 24, of Merrimac, was traveling east on State Highway 78 in the town of Merrimac when it crashed into a tree near Elma Avenue around midnight.
Investigators said McClung lost control while negotiating a curve, he was not wearing a seat belt and speed was a factor in the crash.
Merrimac fire and first responders, Sauk Prairie ambulance and Baraboo District ambulance assisted at the scene.
