Car crashes into building, pushing brick siding, air conditioner into apartment, officials say
MADISON, Wis. — A vehicle crashed into an apartment building on Midvale Boulevard on Monday night, causing structural damage to the complex.
The Madison Fire Department, EMS and the Madison Police Department responded to a crash at Midvale Heights, located at 501 S. Midvale Blvd., at 8:29 p.m.
The crash tore into the window of one unit in the building, pushing two windows, brick siding and a window air conditioner into one of the apartments, according to a release.
The driver told officials she was pulling into a parking spot when her foot slipped and hit the accelerator.
According to the release, the woman reversed the car and parked it in a parking spot after hitting the building. No one was injured in the crash.
Residents were temporarily evacuated while crews made sure the building was structurally sound, officials said.
