Call for Action helps with ‘nightmare’ living room set

Julia Culles said it was a nightmare trying to get a living room set from Bob's Discount Furniture.

MADISON, Wis. — Julia Culles said it was a “nightmare” trying to get a living room set from Bob’s Discount Furniture.

The first piece she ordered arrived with broken wood framing. The second had chipped leather, and the third came with different sized pieces than she originally ordered.

Julia called the Better Business Bureau and even reached out for advice on a Facebook group. That’s when she Called for Action, getting ahold of our volunteers to work on her behalf.

“He gave me some suggestions on how to try and get this resolved. When it didn’t get resolved, he called the Madison store and within 12 hours, I had a call from corporate. Within 24 hours, Call for Action had a check FedExed to our door,” said Culles.

Julia received a refund of $3,480, and she says she wouldn’t have gotten that money back without Call for Action.

“We’re so thankful, and it’s a relief now that we’re just done with it and just kinda move forward,” said Culles.

Over the past year, Call for Action volunteers have gotten Madison-area folks their money back to the tune of $85,000.
