Bus stop on State Street to be removed

Starting Tuesday the bus stop at the top of State Street will be closed, according to a city of Madison release.

Metro Transit and the city of Madison Transit and Parking Commission held a public hearing in July to discuss the measure, where it was decided to remove the shelter and close the stop. Work to remove the shelter will take about 48 hours, officials say.

Passengers can still board their bus at the nearby corner of Mifflin and Carroll streets, on the Capitol square.
