Burke, supporters outspending Walker on TV ads
Numbers don't account for time reserved for final week of campaign
MADISON, Wis. — Democrat Mary Burke and her supporters continue to outspend Republican Gov. Scott Walker and his backers on television campaign commercials, based on the latest tally from the Center for Public Integrity.
Its data shows that Burke’s side spent about $9.7 million on TV ads through Monday, while Walker’s put in just short of $8 million.
The numbers do not take into account time reserved for the final eight days of the campaign. The election is Tuesday.
Both Burke and Walker are making a final push for votes across the state in the final days of the race. Walker was to be joined by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at two stops on Friday. Earlier this week President Barack Obama held a rally with Burke in Milwaukee.
