Burglar breaks into Madison DMV, tries to steal cash from ATM, police say
MADISON, Wis. — A Division of Motor Vehicles employee arrived to work Monday morning to find the front door of the facility shattered, police said.
Officers were dispatched to the DMV facility on Bartillion Drive around 7 a.m., according to a release by the Madison Police Department.
The worker could see an ATM inside had been knocked over, the release said.
Officers found pry marks on the machine, but said the burglar was unable to get to the part where cash is stored.
