Burglar was looking for drugs, police say
A Reedsburg man is facing charges after police said he attempted to break into a home Wednesday afternoon.
The Reedsburg Police Department said police responded at 1:15 p.m. to the 100 block of Crimson Court for a report of a man attempting to enter a home.
The man, 28-year-old Robert A. Cheek, of Reedsburg, was detained by the homeowners when police arrived, according to the report.
Cheek was going to search the house for drugs, police said.
Cheek was arrested and taken to Reedsburg Area Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. While at the hospital, Cheek became disorderly and damaged hospital property.
Cheek was eventually transported to the Sauk County Jail where he will await a court appearance on the charges of burglary, battery, criminal damage, resisting arrest, bail jumping and disorderly conduct.
