Burglar throws brick through window in two different east side liquor store robberies
Police: Not known if crimes are connected, but it's strong possibility
MADISON. Wis. — Madison police said two east side liquor stores were victim of smash and grab burglaries overnight.
The incidents happened at Packer Liquor Store in the 3500 block of Packers Avenue and Rocky’s Liquor in the 4400 block of Milwaukee Street.
In the robbery on Packers, police said a burglar to shatter a window at the liquor store. Once inside, the criminal grabbed alcohol and cigarettes and put the stolen loot inside a duffle bag.
Police said surveillance video shows the incident happened about 11:20 p.m. Thursday and the intruder was inside the building less than two minutes.
In the second incident, which took place sometime Thursday night or Friday morning, a brick was also thrown through a window at Rocky’s and also stole alcohol and cigarettes, according to police.
It’s not known if the crimes are connected, but police believe it’s a strong possibility.
