Police: Burglar stealing extension cords
MADISON, Wis. — Madison police are looking for a man they said is stealing from garages on the city’s west side.
Police were called to a home on Homestead Road Saturday after a man heard sounds coming from his garage. The man said he ended up chasing a burglar, and during the chase the burglar dropped an extension cord and a battery charger.
Police also had a similar report in the 900 block of Pontiac Trail. A concerned resident told police he saw an unknown man leave a garage with two extension cords.
According to police reports, the burglar was described as a black man in his early 50s who may be traveling in a Pontiac Sunfire or Toyota Corolla with no rear window. He was described as standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighting about 175-200 pounds and was wearing a gray shirt and dark pants, police said.
