Burglar breaks into business with blow torch, police say

MADISON, Wis. — Madison police responded to a non-residential burglary Monday morning in the 800 block of Gammon Road, according to an incident report.

Police said a burglar used a blow torch, or a similar device, to break into a metal money box inside Clothes Encounter. The criminal fled after taking cash from the money box.

The business owner contacted police shortly after discovering the break-in around 7 a.m.
